Before I became a Muslim, I was: Christian
I have been a Muslim for: 20 years
I became a Muslim because: I found out that Jesus was not God or the son of God but a Prophet sent by God. He was born in a miraculous way and taught the same message of tawheed as all the other prophets before him. I already felt close to Islam before that and loved Muslims and their various cultures. So with this new realisation I accepted Islam straight away.
The best thing that has changed in my life is: I always felt that my life had a purpose and that I had self worth. Now alhamdulillah this has been clearly defined for me by the principles of Islam. Now I can insha Allah fulfil my lifes purpose according to what Allah is pleased with and not my own made up beliefs.
My advice to someone who is looking into Islam is:
Be sincere and have an open mind and heart. Don’t allow cultural or family pride to stop you from accepting the clear truth once you find it. Always ask questions and of you ask a Muslim they should give you references as proof about what they tell you.
